Your adventure through the Connemara will be guided by Willie Leahy and his family, quintessential Irish horsemen. For over 30 years the Leahys have enjoyed introducing visitors to their very special part of Ireland. This fantastic holiday, trekking through the Gaelic west, is not just for experienced riders, but for anyone who would enjoy seeing the dramatic Irish countryside from the back of a horse. And not just any horse, but surefooted, agile Connemara ponies and Irish Hunters bred to confidently travel the terrain.

Throughout the week, these horses will carry you across the wild green mountains, sandy beaches, and rust colored bogs which make up the landscape of Connemara. Everyday, there is a stop for a welcome picnic lunch, while we relax and take in the extraordinary beauty of the countryside. After five to seven hours of riding you are accommodated in your choice of charming Irish country hotels, or B&Bs while the horses graze freely in nearby fields.

The trails are not confined to horse lovers. There are many activities available in the area: salmon and deep sea fishing, golf, cycling, walking tours, and mountain climbing, as well as sightseeing. At the end of the day, you can meet your riding companions in the hotel pub to share the days adventures.
